About the founder
Hi! I’m Coach K—officially known as Katrina—and I’m the heart behind G.A.S. It Up Fitness. With a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a master’s in Health and Physical Education, I’ve dedicated my life to promoting youth wellness and movement. I currently teach physical education to students in grades K–8, where I’ve had the privilege of watching young people grow not just in their physical skills, but also in confidence, creativity, and leadership.
Over the years, I’ve coached several sports, with basketball being my first love. While that competitive spirit is still in me, I’ve found true fulfillment in helping others simply embrace being active—whether they’re athletes or just discovering what movement can mean for them. To me, physical activity isn’t just an occasional event—it’s a lifestyle built on consistency, curiosity, and joy.
That passion led me to create G.A.S. It Up Fitness, a program designed to get kids moving, learning, and having fun. It’s a space where children can be children again—running, laughing, learning about their bodies, and connecting with others in a supportive, energetic environment. Through structured yet playful fitness experiences, they’ll not only move their bodies but also learn why physical activity matters for their health, focus, and happiness.
And it doesn’t stop with the kids—we’re here for the educators, too. Teaching is one of the most demanding professions, and we believe those who shape young minds deserve spaces to recharge, connect, and have fun. That’s why our program also includes wellness-focused activities for school staff, promoting teamwork, stress relief, and shared growth.
At the core of it all, G.A.S. It Up is about building a stronger, healthier, more connected community—one child, one teacher, and one movement at a time.
